[SEQUEL SEPTEMBER] Dead Derrick Is Seeing Red With "The Rage: Carrie 2"

Today's contribution for SEQUEL SEPTEMBER comes from Dead Derrick from Dead Derrick's Horror Movie Reviews. Known Derrick for a while now and he's a huge lover of anything horror - including not only films, but TV, books, video games, and any form of media relating to horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and thrillers. His site is really informative and I always look forward to his reviews, as he usually reviews films I'm usually curious about but haven't seen. Definitely bookmark his site.

Coincidentally as I asked him if he was willing to contribute to this month's theme, he was ready to write and post a review for today's sequel -
THE RAGE: CARRIE 2 from 1999. I thought it was a great choice since I haven't yet touched upon it. Honestly, I haven't seen it in almost ten years. I do remember liking it somewhat, which makes Derrick's thoughts that more interesting. Let's just say that Derrick is clearly not a fan of this "unnecessary" sequel and doesn't hide it. Check out the review and thanks Derrick for helping out!

Sequels to Stephen King movies have no real reason to exist. I dare anyone to argue that point. Did we need a sequel to CHILDREN OF THE CORN? How about THE MANGLER? So almost 30 years after the original CARRIE came out, a sequel was made. Why? To be honest, I have no idea. What generation were the filmmakers trying to market this to? The teenagers at the time had probably never even watched or heard of the original. Hopefully, the adults thought it looked ridiculous as well. Let’s get into the dirty details of why CARRIE 2 might incite some real RAGE from you (see what I did there?).
